What's a cinquain? It's a five line poem with special rules about the length of the lines and the number of syllables they contain.
First of all, think about the following words and how they relate to the stories of survival we have been reading:
survival
bravery
hunger
rescue
Think about Brian, Lieutenant Crane, Gary Paulsen's book, Guts, and the man in the CNN article who was rescued after three months at sea. Are there any other stories of survival you have heard that might give you ideas for your cinquain?
